The world is more advanced, is what people say. Well yeah, I guess they’re right. We have better technology than before. Its also advanced, in fact its so advanced that we have robots now a days. New versions just came out, they’re called “DROIDS”.

Ch.1

My name is Riku Omura. I am a college student. I attend Fujita University in Tokyo, Japan. Its hard not having a Droid. Its like having a super computer, only it looks like a human. Everybody at school has one. Well everyone, except me.

An object falls from the sky, out of nowhere, and lands beside him.

“ What’s the matter Omura?” A voice says from the distance.
As Riku gets up the figure, from which the voice came from, gets closer. The dust settles down and he sees that Roy and his Droid were standing in front of him.

“What do you want Roy!” said Riku.
“Only to have fun!” Roy responded. After he said that, his Droid went into a fighting stance.

I might have forgotten to mention something. Droids are excellent fighting machines. In fact some people say that’s what they were made for.

The Droid’s eyes were glowing red. That could only mean one thing: FIGHTING MODE.
Riku knew he couldn’t possibly win against a machine. The Droid’s arm was held back, with a fist ready to take a punch.
As the Droid takes a swing, Riku closes his eyes, ready to take in the pain. *cling*
Riku didn’t feel anything so he opened his eyes. There in front of him is another Droid blocking the attack. This one seemed familiar to him.
“Leave him alone!” a voice said, breaking  the silence. It was Kisa, one of Riku’s classmates and friend.
“You dare interfere?!” said Roy with a furious voice.
“Attack that Droid!!!” commanded Roy to his own Droid.
“Defend yourself with any means necessary, Yumi” Kisa commanded as well.
Just as about the Droids were about to fight, voice shouts.
“That’s enough!!!”
Everyone in the crowd turned to see who it was. It was Mr. Chisote, the principle of the university.
“Now all of you go back to class…Except you Roy.”
Roy and Mr. Chisote walk off.
“Thanks Kisa” says Riku.
“Your welcome” says Kisa
“It was the least I could do” she says blushing.
Yumi and her walk off. *riiiing* The bell goes off.
“Crap….I’m late!” he says frustrated.

He starts running towards his class. When he gets there he looks that his teacher is already giving the lecture. He walks in. Everything gets quiet and everyone stares at him as he enters the room.
“It’s nice you decided to join us, Mr. Omura” said the teacher. After that, Riku gets in and sits down. The teacher continues his lecture. Riku just sits there with his hand in his chin thinking.

That was close. If Kisa hadn’t shown up, I would have been dead. Mr. Chisote got there at the perfect time too. If he hadn’t come, someone could have gotten hurt.
Man, I wish I could have a Droid. Then I wouldn’t depend on other people to protect me.
*riiing*
The bell breaks the silence. Class was over and everyone left, except for Riku.
“Oh will you just go!” the teacher says with an irritated look.
Crap I got to go to work!
He starts running out. He takes random turns at random places. When he’s about to get there he hears a loud THUD. He truns around to see what it was, but he didn’t see anything, except for a pile of bags on the floor. They  looked like a body was in there. Terrified, he walks towards the bags. He slowly puts his hand over them, and quickly takes off the bags. To his surprise he finds a body. He screams of terror. Then he realizes it’s a Droid, because of the numbers encoded in its wrist. He also found out that it was actually a “she”.
“I wonder who’s it is?” he asks himself. He glances in every direction, and finds nothing. He tries to lift it to see how much she weighs.
“Oh god, she weighs a ton.”
Now knowing the weight, he uses more strength to lift her. He starts running of with her. Just in case someone comes for her again.

When he arrives at his apartment, he gently puts her on the ground.
“Now, how do I turn you on?” he said out loud.
He looked all over her body for an “ON” switch, but couldn’t find one.
“How do you turn this freaking thing on?!” he said annoyed. He kicked her and with a flash in her eyes, she turned on.
Riku walks back with amaze. He trips on his feet. Quickly the Droid grabs his hand before he hit the ground.
“Uh…Thank you” he said.
She just bows in response.
“What’s your name?” he asks her.
Without saying anything, she points at her throat.
“What’s the matter?” he says. “Can’t you talk?”
She just shakes her head with disappointment. He knew that droids came with a voice chip already installed, but he didn’t know why this one didn’t have one. As he was running this through his mind, he remembered his parents gave him a voice chip from their previous Droid, to sell it for his tuition.
“Good thing I kept it” he said. He was going through his whole apartment looking for it. The Droid just stood there not knowing what he was doing. He found it inside a box with JUNK written on it. He took the chip and  put it near her ear. Suddenly the chip went in.
“Now, can you tell me your name?” he asked.
“M-my name?”
“Yes, what do you go by?” he asked
“I don’t know” she answered.
“What about ‘Ari’?” he suggested.
“That’s a pretty name” she says
“Than that’s your name, Ari” he said
“I’m Riku, by the way.
“R-Riku” said Ari, struggling to get the words out.
“Yes, that’s right” he said.

This is a new story I'm working on the summer. It's kinda like 'Chobits' but the robots are called "Droids". Also, the Droids can fight and they hold special events or tournaments where the Droids and their master can fight to win pricez.

I will probably draw this out in like July. Hopefully I get my tablet for my birthday.

Its kinda like it, but the robots can fight and have really high tech weapons and junk.
